Appeninn Nyrt. will continue to implement its growth strategy, aiming to achieve a significant expansion of its real estate portfolio in the coming years, alongside a dynamic increase in financial results. In addition to the strategic orientations set in 2018, the company will continue to focus on tourism property development and will apply the principle of value creation and value retention in a more pronounced way than before.
Growth continues at the real estate company
Appeninn Nyrt. intends to continue the growth targeted in its business strategy adopted in June 2018, mainly through the acquisition of quality office buildings. In addition, the company has added new areas and targets to its previously published strategy, according to which the company intends to place a strong emphasis on tourism property development in the future and to achieve significant portfolio growth in this area. Appeninn Nyrt. also sees the implementation of the principles of value preservation and value creation as a new strategic direction. According to the company's announcement on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange in an investor presentation The new goals will further strengthen the vision of Appeninn Plc, further increasing shareholder value and the company's value proposition and market position.
Among the new objectives, tourism property development will continue to be a priority within the company's activities. Appeninn Nyrt. first entered the tourism sector in January 2019, when it acquired the Club Aliga, which had been neglected for decades, through Pro-Mot Hungária Kft., and in January 2020 it acquired a 76 percent stake in the company operating the Balatonfüred port. Through tourism development, which is primarily focused on the development of the ports in the Lake Balaton region and hotel construction, Appeninn Nyrt. aims to participate in the development of the Balaton region into one of the tourism hubs of Central Europe. At the same time, the company is constantly monitoring other regions for potential tourism developments.
The company has also set a new strategic direction to further emphasise the principles of value preservation and value creation in its activities. The aim of Appeninn Plc is to find and identify properties that are temporarily unused or in need of renovation due to their deteriorated condition. In developing properties that are outdated, in a state of disrepair but have value, the company will seek to preserve and add value. These developments must also comply with the principles of sustainability, especially in the case of outstanding natural assets in Hungary such as Lake Balaton and its surroundings, and the company will apply a green approach and sustainable and energy-efficient solutions in all property segments.
In line with the expansion in Central Europe set out in the business strategy adopted in 2018, the company intends to actively explore the surrounding markets and the possibility of entering new markets in the coming years. The target markets to be explored include Poland and Serbia. This will require careful selection and market research and the selection of the right local professional partners, which is expected to take place in 2021 at the earliest.
In the future, Appeninn Plc will continue the growth it has started with an even more comprehensive strategy. In addition to tourism development, the focus will naturally remain on quality office buildings and the retail portfolio. Currently, the company has a real estate portfolio worth more than €150 million, including more than 55,000 sqm of office space available for rent, which is expected to grow significantly in the coming years as new objectives are implemented. Although the company's business strategy has not changed fundamentally, the renewal of some elements of its business strategy was a necessary step to continue the growth it has started in 2020 and beyond, in line with market trends.
