The renewal of Club Aliga can be accelerated, the government has declared the development of Club Aliga a priority investment

The renewal of Club Aliga in Balatonvilágos, one of the most significant tourism developments in the Balaton region, was classified as an investment of national economic importance. The government decree has opened up the possibility for the development works to be carried out with a more predictable schedule, thus creating the opportunity for the resort to create new jobs in the region as soon as possible and for Club Aliga to contribute to the further strengthening of tourism in Hungary, including tourism in Lake Balaton, as a major tourist destination. The fact that it has been declared a priority investment does not change the idea that the development of the area should be carried out with the involvement of the local government of the municipality of Balatonvilágos, taking into account local interests. Nevertheless, the beach of Aligai will continue to be open to visitors under the usual conditions.

The development of the Club Aliga holiday resort in Balatonvilágos was considered an investment of key national economic importance, given that the realisation of the project and thus the stimulation of domestic tourism is of key importance for the Hungarian economy. The designation as a priority investment project will help to complete the development of the resort, which was previously state-owned and then privately owned from 2007 and has been in a gradually deteriorating state for decades, as soon as possible, and will significantly speed up, but not simplify, the administrative procedures required for construction.

The decision will have a number of tangible benefits: for Balatonvilágos and the region, it will create jobs and significantly increase tourism, which will also be a major economic and competitiveness advantage. The fact that the status of a priority national economy is a clear positive message for the Appeninn Group and the investors of Nyrt.

The development of the Club Aliga area is a multi-pronged project, the first elements of which, which will affect the beach, have already been completed this summer and will result in a number of new facilities for visitors in the future. The overall renovation of the harbour, which has great potential for sailing tourism in the whole of Lake Balaton, is expected to be completed in autumn next year and will involve two years of work, including the construction of a new, modern harbour building to support the more efficient operation of the harbour. The development of the harbour and the waterfront will further strengthen Club Aliga's position in the Balaton boating scene.

A central element of the development is the renewal of the deteriorated Club Aliga accommodation offer, with the construction of a 4-star, year-round hotel with more than 160 rooms, expected to be completed by the end of 2023. The hotel will include a spa, conference centre, sports fields, playgrounds, shops and cafés.

However, the decision to highlight the project does not bring any changes in the consultation processes with the local communities: the Appeninn Nyrt. and the operator PRO-MOT Hungária Kft. plan to continue to implement the developments that will bring prosperity to the area in cooperation with the Municipality of Balatonvilágos and taking into account the local interests.
